Just back from a wonderful holiday in Madeira with Claire, Mia and her Mum Kath. I loved the island, people, food and climate. Mia was an absolute star and got lots of attention.
We stayed at the Eden Mar Hotel and although it was 4 star it was as good as any 5 star Hotel I have been to. The Eden Mar is joined to the Porto Mar and Residence, we could use the facilities for all and believe me there were a lot.
There was a gym which I attended almost every day and a beautiful spa with a pool that you could swim from inside to outside.
My favourite place was the old town, (Zonha Velha). There were cobbled streets and lovely restaurants that served the most delicious food. We sat there eating and drinking the local wine while Mia slept. We timed it so that it was starting to get dark, a beautiful time of day. We also went up on the cable car but we resisted the offer of a sliding toboggan back down.
If you want a relaxing holiday with beautiful scenery Madeira is your place, we are definitely going back.
