Mia`s first 8 weeks.

Claire and Mia.

I feel like my feet have not touched the ground since Mia arrived. Finding the time to clean the house or car is nearly impossible and even nipping out for a haircut is tough. That`s why I have not updated my blog for over a Month but I am now going to make time, it`ll make interesting reading for Mia when she is older.
She has been a bundle of joy and is smiling and goo goo ga - ing constantly. The first Month shocked us by how little sleep we were getting and that was taking turns to get up through the night. I put some football on Sky plus to watch while I was feeding in the early hours.
Now for the amazing bit and people can`t believe this when we tell them. Mia has gone from sleeping for 3-4 hours to 12 hours.........yes 12 hours! The first time it happened we thought there was something wrong and kept getting up and looking for her chest rising. Initially we could never have foreseen this change in sleeping habits and I scoured the internet for help. I was directed to a book called the Baby Whisperer and I took out the best bits.
All I can say is in my opinion if your baby is going to be a good sleeper it`s going to happen anyway once you establish a routine. The only thing I took from the book that I`ve used is recognising types of crying. It`s very handy if you know if your baby is crying for wind or food. Imagine stuffing a bottle down a windy baby, how would you like it?
I took Mia swimming last week for the first time at Barony Castle in Peebles, (see earlier blog). She loved the water and I am going to make this a regular excursion.
I am off to Portugal with my friends for a week next week with Claire`s blessing but I`m going to miss them like mad. When I get back we are off on a family holiday to Madeira, I am really looking forward to it.
