Dropping Sarah off.

Took Sarah halfway home to Scotland last night and John, (future step Dad), very kindly met me and took Sarah the rest of the way.
On the way back Claire and I were chatting when a Pheasant ran out in front of me. I swerved but hit it full on at approximately 60mph. I pulled over at the next laybye about 50 yards up the road. Claire is an animal lover and was crying and although I am an animal lover I was crying for another reason. My Fog light was missing and BMW parts are not cheap.
We got on our way again and about 8 miles down the road the thought of the expensive parts made me wish I had gone back for the bit that fell off. Claire persuaded me to turn around even though we suspected that the fog light would be smashed.
We found the Pheasant as you can see in the photo and just at the side of it in the long grass was the whole fog light unit in one piece. Thank goodness we went back, I removed the Pheasant from the road and we set off again. Not before we started talking about bird flu :-). Got the antibacterial hand wash out as soon as I got home.
