Birthday Boy.

It`s my 42nd birthday today, the same day as the Queens 80th. Hit Newcastle last night and enjoyed free Champagne in Sea Nightclub with my mate Brian, (they must be desperate for business to give away free Champagne).
Claire has spent far too much on me and I now have an FM transmitter for my mobile phone which means I can beam my music wirelessly to any stereo system, it`s going to be great for parties. She also got me a flash for my phone and the guy who invented the bagless vacuum, James Dysons autobiography. I also got a ball shaped speaker system for my phone that sounds great and is so small it`ll be great for my hotel bedrooms abroad. As you can tell I love gadgets and I have a W800i walkman phone. I even got a cake, as you can see by the picture,we relented on too many candles.
I woke her when I got home last night and she let me open my presents, poor thing she had work in the morning and we were up until 5am. I was like a big kid at Xmas.
I have taken some pictures of Tynemouth on my phone camera and I`ll post them here, I feel so lucky to live here, it`s a truly beautiful piece of Britain. All the photos are within half a mile of my house.
I must tell you more about last night. I loaned Brian some money on Monday and he mentioned that his girlfriend wanted him to be out of the house for the night when her parents visted on Thursday, (they don`t like Brian). I arranged for Brian to play football for us last night, (we won 9-3). Afterwards I said I`d treat him to a few beers, 1. It was my birthday at Midnight, 2. He had nowhere to go. Anyway he gets a call at 10.45pm when we are in a Pub on the Quayside from his girlfriend but he can`t hear her for the music. We leave to go to another pub and Brian calls his girlfriend while I go ahead and get the drinks up. He comes in 5 minutes later and said she had given him a mouthful of abuse and hung up on him. He had explained that it was my Birthday and that I was treating him to a few beers and she lost the plot and started having a go at him. What did she expect him to do, sit in his car all night? He calls her a Jeckyl and Hyde character, it seems to be true. The sooner he gets his own place the better. We proceeded to have a good night but he had a bit of a cloud over him.
I ended up at the Casino again and chatted to the staff to kill time while my taxi was on its way. I got ring back and was heading out to get my cab but I could not resist a quick game of Blackjack. I lost all my money, even my cab fair but had a tenner in my back pocket. I turned that tenner into 80 quid.....phew. Rushed outside and saw my cab leaving, had to go back inside and call another one. Had a coffee and resisted the urge to play any more tables. The girl and guy behind the cash desk wished me a happy birthday, I was surprised because I had not mentioned it. They had pulled my details up on the Computer and I got my whole night made when they said I did not look my age, (they probably thought I was older).
Out tonight for a meal with Claire at the Exchange, in town with the lads for a few beers tomorrow, I`m having a great Birthday week!
